Fees and insurance

My fee depends on the nature and frequency of our sessions. I typically meet with individuals and couples for 60 minute sessions, once or twice a week. Groups meet for longer sessions, once a week or once a month, depending on the nature of the group.
My full fee for individual therapy is $240 per 60 minute session. If we meet more than once a week, this fee can be adjusted to make our schedule possible. If this fee doesn't make therapy accessible to you at this time and you would like us to work together, please reach out anyway. I reserve a few spots in my practice for clients who qualify for my sliding scale (meaning for a fee based on your household income and number of dependents, as you wish to share it with me). I offer reduced fees to graduate and medical students.

WITH INSURANCE
I accept all insurances out of network. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, it may cover some or most of my fee, while you will be responsible for the difference. Often, the difference is similar to your in-network copay. Most insurers, including Anthem, Cigna, United, Optum, etc, allow me to bill them directly, just like an in-network provider. Otherwise, I will provide you a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
WITHOUT INSURANCE
If you do not have insurance coverage for mental health or if you prefer not to use your insurance for privacy or for other reasons, my fees can be paid with checks, bank transfers, or any debit/credit card via secure electronic invoices emailed to you following our sessions.
If you do not have insurance or do not wish to use it, a bill called the No Surprises Act (https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises) requires people providing medical and mental health services to share with you the total cost of treatment ahead of time. In psychotherapy, the length of your treatment depends on your needs, goals, schedule, ongoing life circumstances, and finances, but you can approximate the yearly cost of therapy by multiplying your session fee (as discussed together before your first session) by the number of sessions you expect to keep in one year.
Regardless of your insurance coverage, I'd be glad to discuss ways to make it possible for you to access the therapy that you are seeking.
